RCHL Policies

The Bakersfield RHC is to be a low-key hockey league comprised of men and women of varying skill level.  The aim is to provide a family atmosphere for those who want to enjoy the exercise, competition and camaraderie of playing roller hockey.

Remember, the only thing we're playing for is a water bottle and toilet plunger covered in duct tape.  Nobody outside of this building, and very few inside of, can even name who last season's champion was.

Players who are excessively and unnecessarily rough, use foul language, abuse officials or cannot play within the guidelines of the Bakersfield RHCwill be dropped from the league.

That said, this is a rough sport.  You will be run into, you will fall and you will get hit with sticks and pucks.  If you are not ready to accept this, or to accept that this will happen to your significant other, you need to find another recreational outlet.

This is your league and in order to continue this league, every player must take an active ownership roll.  The future success depends entirely on what each of us is willing to contribute.  To that end, we are starting the following policies:

Membership dues are paid through "helper points," earned by refereeing or scoring games in which you are not participating.  Everyone is expected to earn helper points throughout each season or they may be dropped from the club.
In order to cut down on the number of people who beg to play, are placed on a team and then disappear leaving their teammates shorthanded, all prospective new members will be required to pay a one-time initiation fee of $50.00.  This will be in addition to the regular league fees.
